Job Description
As a Catering Assistant with Worker Finder, you’ll be the dependable pair of hands that keeps a kitchen or hospitality service running smoothly. From plating and food preparation to keeping wash-up and prep areas spotless, you’ll support chefs and front-of-house teams across restaurants, hotels, conference venues and event caterers throughout Milton Keynes and the wider Buckinghamshire area.
This is temporary catering and hospitality work with an immediate start, ideal whether you’re building experience towards a Level 2 catering course, already hold an NVQ Level 2 in Hospitality and Catering, or simply want flexible, well-paid shifts that fit around your week. Full training and induction are provided on site, so no formal catering qualification is needed to begin — a positive attitude and reliability matter most.
What you’ll be doing
- Assisting chefs with basic food preparation, plating and portioning
- Setting up service areas, replenishing stock and clearing tables
- Operating the wash-up station and keeping crockery and equipment clean
- Maintaining kitchen hygiene to food safety and HACCP standards
- Supporting banqueting, buffet and event catering at busy periods
What we’re looking for
- Reliable, punctual and happy working in a fast-paced team
- Basic food hygiene awareness (Level 1/Level 2) is welcome but not essential
- Any catering or hospitality experience — kitchen porter, waiting or barista work — is a bonus
- Eligible to work in the UK and able to reach the Milton Keynes area
