The Role

We are seeking an experienced Temporary Works Site Manager to take full ownership of all temporary works activities on a major bridge and infrastructure project in Birmingham.

You will play a critical role in ensuring the safe planning, design, installation and removal of all temporary works throughout the project lifecycle, working closely with construction and site management teams.

Key Responsibilities
• Identify temporary works requirements and develop detailed temporary works plans in collaboration with the project team.

• Carry out risk assessments and ensure full compliance with relevant legislation, codes of practice and industry standards.

• Manage the design, installation and dismantling of temporary works, including scaffolding, formwork, falsework and access systems.

• Coordinate internal teams, designers, subcontractors and external stakeholders to ensure temporary works align with the overall construction programme.

• Provide technical leadership and guidance to site teams and subcontractors.

• Oversee and manage scaffolding and access subcontractors, permits and approvals.

• Conduct regular site inspections and audits, resolving issues promptly.

• Maintain accurate documentation including design calculations, method statements and risk assessments.

• Stay up to date with industry best practice and implement continuous improvements.

About You

You will have proven experience working on large-scale UK infrastructure projects, ideally bridges or viaducts, and be confident managing all aspects of temporary works on a live construction site.

Qualifications & Requirements
• SMSTS.

• Temporary Works Coordinator / Manager / Supervisor Certification.

• CSCS Management Card.

• Demonstrable experience managing temporary works on major bridge or infrastructure projects.
