Job Summary
We are seeking a responsible and attentive School Bus Driver to safely transport students to and from school and related activities.

The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a genuine commitment to student safety and well-being.

This role offers an opportunity to contribute positively to the community while ensuring a safe and comfortable travel experience for children of all ages.

Driving duties include
• Daily and weekly inspections of the school minibuses, reporting any concerns.

• Monitoring the cleanliness of the vehicles.

• Safe and considerate driving of the school minibus, on specified routes.

• Safe supervision of the pupils, and ensuring appropriate behaviour.

• Communicating, using agreed school protocols, with parents of pupils.

Additional duties may include
• Assisting the Site Team, for example: cleaning; painting and minor repairs ; moving stock and deliveries around the site; setting out dining tables and chairs at lunchtime.

• Assisting the Grounds Team, for example mowing lawns, clearing leaves, snow clearance, gritting.

Driving Requirements
• Full clean UK driving licence (held for at lesast 2 years).

• D1 entitlement on UK driving licence.

• Aged 25+ (for insurance purposes).

• MiDAS (or similar) Training - desirable, or willingness to undergo training.

• First Aid Certificate, or willingness to undergo training.

• Proven experience in bus or commercial driving (school bus driving preferred).

• Strong communication skills in English.

• Mechanical knowledge of vehicle operation and basic troubleshooting skills.

• Ability to manage behavior effectively and ensure student safety during transit.

• Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety and customer service.

• Knowledge of local traffic laws, safety regulations, and route management strategies.

• Ability to pass background checks as required by law and company policy.

Interviews will take place at Edgbaston High School for Girls; candidates will also be tested on their knowledge of vehicle safety and will be required to demonstrate their ability to drive one of our minibuses.
